Veteran Kannada actress Jayanthi was rushed to Sidvin Hospital on Sunday, March 25, after she complained of breathing problems. Her condition is said to be critical. Senior actress Jayanthi has been admitted to a private hospital earlier today, after complaining of breathing difficulties. The health of the actress, who is suspected to be suffering from asthma, is being monitored in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit, and she has been put on a ventilator.
Jayanthi has paired with actor Rajkumar in a record number of films (45). This is the highest ever number of films which Rajkumar has ever paired with any actress. The Kannada film industry has honored her with the title "Abhinaya Sharadhe", meaning Goddess Sharada in acting. She has received two Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Actress, the President's Medal for Best Actress and two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress throughout her career.
